Materials & Supplies
What kind of face paints do you use?
We use FDA approved, water based face paints specifically designed for use on the skin. If you are worried about sensitive skin or an adverse reaction, we can also paint designs on hands or arms where the skin is typically less sensitive.
We typically do not paint children younger than the age of 2 or any guests who are uncomfortable with face painting.
What is Henna / Mehendi?
Henna or Mehendi is a natural dye used to create intricate designs using henna paste. The henna paste I use is 100% natural, and the paste is created using henna powder (dried and grounded leaves from the henna tree) mixed with eucalyptus oils. Henna stains can last from 1-2 weeks depending on your aftercare methods. See the Aftercare section for tips on how to take care of your stain!
What are glitter tattoos?
Glitter tattoos are temporary tattoos that are applied using a body safe adhesive and cosmetic grade glitter. We offer over 50 designs, and tattoos can last up to a week. See the Aftercare section for more details!
Aftercare
How can I take care of my henna stain?
There are multiple steps you can take to ensure a dark, long-lasting henna stain. Though henna paste dries within 30 minutes - 1 hour, it is best to keep the paste on for as long as possible to ensure the best possible stain. It is recommended to keep the paste on overnight, and to avoid soap and water for the first 24 hours (and excessive scrubbing of the paste and stain in general). To remove henna paste, you can scrape it off using your fingernails or a butter knife, but never wash it off with water!
How can I take care of my glitter tattoo?
Avoid excessive scrubbing with water and soap over the tattoo when washing your hands / showering. If you are careful with it, your glitter tattoo can last up to 1 week!
How do I remove face paint?
All of the face paints used at your event are water based, so to remove face paint all you will need is soap and water. Gently scrub your face paint and wash off with water, but remember to use soap or a gentle skin cleanser, because water alone will not do the trick!
Alternatively, you can also use makeup remover wipes (Neutrogena is recommended) or micellar water.
How do I remove my henna paste?
To remove the henna paste, you will need to first let it dry completely. After it has dried, you may notice that some parts of the design start to crack and fall off on its own. This is completely natural, and to remove the rest of the dried paste, you should use your fingernails or a butter knife to gently scrape the remaining. Never use water to wash off your dried henna paste!
How do I remove my glitter tattoo?
You can use rubbing alcohol to remove your glitter tattoo. Alternatively, you can also use baby oil to soak the area of the tattoo for a few minutes before using a gentle sponge and soap to slowly remove it.
Booking
What does the booking process look like?
Once you fill out the Booking Request Form, you can expect an email response within 24 hours with a quote estimate for your event. After you receive the quote and confirm that you’d like to move forward with booking, you will receive a contract and payment details for the booking fee. Once you have submitted the signed contract and completed payment for the booking fee, you will be all set!
What are the set up guidelines?
To set up and protect equipment, the artist’s station must be set up in the shade if the event is on a sunny day. If there is no shade we will not be able to continue providing services.
For set up materials, a medium sized table of 5-8 feet should be provided, along with a set of 2 chairs. The artist must be placed in a well lit area.
Since we are bringing many materials to make your event a success, parking must be provided with no more than a 5 minute walk from the event location. Paid parking must be reimbursed and will be added to the total invoice.
Can I extend the booking times on the day of the event?
You absolutely can extend the length of the reservation on the day of the event, however this possibility is not always guaranteed. Provided that the artist is available, you can check with the artist on the day of the event to see if an extension is possible.
What happens if I have to cancel or postpone?
If for any reason you need to cancel or postpone, please note that the booking fee is non refundable. If you need to postpone, provided that the artist is available on the new date requested, there will be a $30.00 rescheduling fee, and the booking fee will be transferred to your new date.
If you need to cancel more than 3 days before your event, only the booking fee will be non refundable and you will not be billed for the balance due at the time of the event.
If you need to cancel between 24-28 hours before your event, you will be billed for 75% of the balance due at the time of the event.
If you need to cancel less than 24 hours before your event, you will be billed for the full balance due at the time of the event.
